UPDATE:  Off The Grid is currently offering outdoor seating either riverside overlooking the Thornton or under cover on our front porch.  We now have a convenient walk up window to place your order or you may order by phone, on our website, or curbside drive-in service. Full menu available for take out or order from our farm-to-freezer meals, to-go. Bathroom is available for guests one at a time with a mask.

Here at Off The Grid, we share the concern regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19) and how it's impacting our neighborhoods and the world. In response, we have increased our level of sanitation and best practices outlined by the CDC and FDA to keep all safe from exposure to harmful bacteria and viruses.

Employees have been instructed in CDC best practices. We have shared specific instructions with our team on the importance of staying home if they feel sick or have family members that are not well.

All offerings will now be served on compostable, disposable, or recyclable containers.

Employees have been reminded to wash hands after every task from handling money to clearing tables and everything in between.

Kitchen and prep staff will continue to wear sanitary gloves at all times while preparing food and replaced after each task. Front of house staff will wear gloves while taking payment.

We will continue to find ways to keep safe from this virus and do all we can to protect you and our employees.

We look forward to seeing you soon. Thank you for your patronage!

Fresh eggs, seasonal produce, and hemp

Cross the bridge over the river, and you will find yourself on our farm. The property grades upward to rest against the Shenandoah National Park. We keep a flock of pasture-raised hens for egg production. Our little red hens (and a few daffy ducks) are rotated around the property, protected from predators by two layers of electrified net fencing. In the warmer months we grow vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers to use in the restaurant. We grow using organic approved methods and build our soil by composting cardboard, paper waste, and kitchen scraps on-site. Off the Grid is also holds an industrial hemp growers and processors registration. We believe that cultivating hemp fits in with the overall vision of Off the Grid. Hemp is said to be the only plant that can feed us, fuel us, house us, and may have the potential to heal us. Check out our hemp flower tea blends and topical salves in our Market!
